Bjarni will intervene in the intellectuals and activists panel: “Changing Europe, yes! But how ? » introducing the “Constituent Deliberative Process” on Saturday, and he will co-chair the « EU Democratisation Citizen online Platform » working group on Sunday
Bjarni is a management consultant and social entrepreneur. His consultant practise focuses on leadership and organisational transformation. He a PhD in Organisational Transformation, where he focused his research on how social transformation and emergence could be based on large scale citizen engagement. He was one of the founders of the so called Anthill, a grassroot organisation in Iceland which organised a citizen assembly following the financial crisis in 2008, involving 1200 randomly sampled participants engaging in a dialogue about the future of Iceland. The dialogue form was applied a year later by the Parliament initiating the revision of the Constitution of Iceland.
He is also member og a National Values Group, organized by Barrett’s Valuescentre, which actively studies and discusses the significance of values in social development in 15 countries around the globe. (Sources: Linkedin)
